About the Course

It has been practiced in India for over 5000 years as an ancient Ayurvedic therapy. During an Ayurvedic massage and Shirodhara course, students learn the principles and techniques of Ayurvedic massage and Shirodhara, a therapy involving pouring warm oil over the forehead. The course program covers theoretical foundations of Ayurveda, including the role of doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), selection of oils, and practical application of the treatment. The combined courses provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to provide clients with a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience that relieves stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Study time is 30 % of theory and 70 % of practice across the course of study.

The curriculum of Ayurvedic Beauty Treatment Course includes

  1. Basics of Ayurveda, encompassing the tridosha theory and the panchamahabhuta theory. You will learn more about the theory of how health depends on the balance between three life energies: Vata (motion), Pitta (transformation), and Kapha (structure). The proportions of these doshas, respectively (earth, water, fire, air, and space), determine each person's unique constitution (Prakriti). By using customized approaches, Ayurveda aims to reverse imbalances in Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, which are caused by factors like diet or stress.

  2. Bilateral synchronized Kerala Ayurveda massage for balanced energy flow and therapeutic effectiveness. Here, you will practice Synced Ayurvedic massage, also known as Abhyanga, a full-body massage performed by two therapists in a harmonious and rhythmic way.

  3. Practical instruction on the shirodhara (the word is derived from the Sanskrit words 'Shiro,' which means 'head,' and 'Dhara,' which means 'pouring in a stream') procedure and takradhara preparation.

  4. Detailed guidance and hands-on practice in head, foot, face, and full-body massage with special emphasis on marma points, led by seasoned physicians.

By utilizing Ayurvedic knowledge of tridosha, shirodhara, and the rejuvenation principles, participants will benefit from personal well-being and professional development. Your confidence in entering the industry will be greatly enhanced after completing the course. Students can take this course as a stepping stone to studying Ayurveda or other holistic healing practices, which offer opportunities for advanced certifications and specializations.
